Position Summary:

Server duties are to focus on interaction with CW guests, fellow workers and CW management in a professional service industry manner.

 

Overview of Responsibilities:

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Restaurant Server:

  • Extensive working knowledge of food and beverages available daily at CW to maximize sales, including ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens
  • Practice the art of upselling with each table
  • Adhere to Steps of Service as propagated by Service Director and brand standards, when applicable
  • Create a hospitable, welcoming environment for all guests in the dining room, with approachable presentation of knowledge and ability to execute professional service
  • Enforce Federal, State and City laws and ordinances in the handling and provision of alcoholic beverages
  • Handling of money and cards for payment for services
  • Serving wine, beer and liquor in proper proportions and glassware and charging proper prices for beverages
  • Serving of food from the proper menus, providing quality control and charging the proper prices for food
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas including sidestations, floor, shelves, and storage areas
  • Maintain an organized workspace, keeping and storing things in their proper places
  • Ensure that work areas are properly supplied with glassware, garnishes, silverware, napkins, pens, paper, and other appropriate supplies
  • Attend tastings and trainings as mandated by Management
  • Ability to maintain positive guest experience and exceed guest expectations
  • Maintain a well-groomed, polished appearance and navigate dining room efficiently
  • Keep working knowledge of City Winery brand, history, culture, and programming, both in venue and private events
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Management and the Service Director

Venue Server:

  • Maintain a well-groomed, polished appearance and navigate venue conditions, including tight spaces, dark room, and loud environment
  • Keep working knowledge of City Winery brand, history, culture, and programming, both in venue and private events
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Management and the Service Director

Event Server:

  • Extensive working knowledge of food and beverages offered for event, including ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens
  • Adhere to Steps of Service as propagated by Service and Events Director and brand standards, when applicable
  • Set rooms according to floor plan
  • Create a hospitable, welcoming environment for all guests, with approachable presentation of knowledge and ability to execute professional service
  • Enforce Federal, State and City laws and ordinances in the handling and provision of alcoholic beverages
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Execute style of service called for by event (ie, passed hors d’oeuvres or banquet style)
  • Attend tastings and trainings as mandated by Management
  • Ability to maintain positive guest experience and exceed guest expectations
  • Maintain a well-groomed, polished appearance, adhering to Events Uniform Guidelines
  • Keep working knowledge of City Winery brand, history, culture, and programming
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Management and the Service or Events Director
