City Winery's Restaurant Manager interacts with Restaurant and Dining Room guests, ensuring a positive guest experience by touching all tables. He/She encourages and maximizes food and beverage sales through pre-shift trainings. The position requires a hospitality professional who ensures guest satisfaction while overseeing service associates. He/She works an estimated 45-50 hours/ week and also performs nightly closes.
● Provide on-the-floor support to sales / service for the duration of a service shift and manage day to day restaurant floor operations, including assigning server sections, overseeing side work, observing steps of service, and maintaining overall cleanliness/tidiness of the restaurant
Manage staffing and operations of private events, as applicable
Manage host team, including reviewing/updating reservation messaging, coordination with Box Office regarding ticketed events, holding monthly host meeting, and general host stand operations
Submit weekly schedules for host team for Service Director Approval, as well as any other employee scheduling, as needed
Perform all cash handling procedures: opening, mid-day safe counts, cash pay-outs and nightly cash drops, as needed
Review daily and monthly reservations. Manage and upkeep OpenTable reservation system and coordinate room holds and reservation/guest information with private events and culinary department. Maintain oversight of large party reservations, including messaging about seating and payment policies
Assist Wine Sales Director in maintaining online wine shop, retail wine initiatives and growler programs
Oversee operations of retail tasting table, including coordinating scheduling of tasting table attendant, developing marketing/sales initiatives, and maintaining/updating overlook design and “feel” of retail table
Check in with guests in bar and restaurant area during shift to ensure guest satisfaction and identify any opportunities
Conduct staff trainings both in daily pre-shifts and monthly FOH staff service meetings
Coordinate wine tours, including managing Rezdy reservation system in conjunction with any promotional tour offerings, as needed, and monitor TripleSeat scheduling system to adjust tour schedule for private event closures accordingly. Ensure sufficient tour guide scheduling
Maintain pars of all printed promotional materials, comment cards, or other check presenter inserts.
● Maintain & update contact lists, VIP, and public event guest lists
