City Winery Boston is opening this summer and is seeking valuable Sous Chefs to join the team. We are a restaurant, a concert venue, and event space with a dining capacity of up to 500 guests. We are looking for well-seasoned candidates to help our growing culinary team create a culinary experience tantamount to the cultural experience we provide through our wine and music.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Applicants will be expected to participate in the execution of the menus for our concerts, dining events, lunch, dinner, and brunch. The job requires overseeing daily operations in the kitchen, maintaining and raising the profit margins on all food menus with the Executive Chef. Management of kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities and ensures proper safety and sanitation in the kitchen. In addition, maximizing the productivity of the kitchen staff.
A formal degree in the culinary arts or proof of equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years experience running a high volume kitchen environment.
Must have restaurant opening experience
Financial management skills, such as basic accounting and reconciling
Communication, Leadership and Time management skills
The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a focus on client and customer services is essential to success in this position.
Connections to local purveyors & vendors
Previous experience with controlling food and labor costs, high volume catered cooking, menu development and pricing as well as the development of an efficient culinary team is mandatory.
